This Week’s Project: Porch Table

porch table before

This brave little table stood in the rain today in southeast Evanston until I stopped to give it a lift.  Its wire legs needs some de-rusting, and the terra cotta tile is almost the right size on top.  Sturdy though, and a nice place for a pitcher of lemonade, just any day now.

crinoline chair

The pattern in this Crinoline Chair by Italian designer Patricia Urquiola is inspiration for the table top.  I’d like to capture the organic feel using the micro freshwater clam shells I collected at the lakefront last week, if they’re not too soft to stand up to grout.

What’s up for you this week?

  1. What an awesome find !!!! I love the legs.

I scored myself a groovy old door with a 3 paned top. I might try to use it in the garden somehow.
